Workshops

Why book a community workshop? It’s fun! From the first vocal warm up to the grand finale of full harmony these workshops are time and money well spent.

Letz Sing workshops accommodate all levels of experience from those who don’t think they can sing to the seasoned choral singer. In a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere Tina teaches people how to use their voice, their listening skills, and their breathing to produce sounds that can be projected with ease and confidence. Through a variety of exercises and activities that are fun and easy to do, participants experiment with their voice and gain lasting confidence in their own abilities. A collection of songs are taught with a wide range of methods and outcomes:  call and response, rhythmic chants, singing in rounds, learning to harmonize and adding dynamics are all tools that Tina uses to produce the end result. A group that sings together!

“Tina, I'm a person who has a low cracky voice and who can't hear if a note is higher or lower than the one before, but I love coming to Letz Sing!  No one judges; we just enjoy. As one of my fellow singers said, This is the best thing I've done for myself in years!”

Tina Filippino travels to various communities to host workshops and lead community sings, bringing with her a contagious enthusiasm for singing and harmony and teaching participants a collection of songs they can sing together and teach to others. There have been community sings on the island communities of Sointula, Alert Bay, Salt Spring, Quadra, Read Island, and Cumberland.
